BlueCoast was developed within the framework of a PhD dissertation by Alexandra Ćulibrk at the Department of Oceanography and Marine Sciences.

The doctoral research, titled

“Development of a Framework for the Sustainable Management of Protected and Touristic Beaches Incorporating Coastal Vulnerability and Carrying Capacity,”

explores how scientific tools can support fair, transparent and ecologically responsible coastal management.

Alexandra is an oceanographer with academic training in Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM), focusing on the interaction between environmental vulnerability, tourism pressure, and spatial governance.
